Bio
Michael P. Canavan is an Associate in the Firm's Environmental Practice Group, providing counsel related to environmental issues associated with real estate and corporate transactions, including environmental due diligence, contractual allocation of environmental risks and liabilities, and regulatory compliance, among others. His clients include venture capital and private equity firms, real estate opportunity funds, and commercial real estate developers, as well as companies in highly-regulated industries.
Prior to joining Post & Schell, Mr. Canavan was an Associate with the Litigation & Trial Practice Team in the New York office of an AmLaw 100 firm. He also served as an intern with the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and with The Honorable Susan G. Braden of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
Mr. Canavan graduated with honors from The George Washington University Law School and earned a B.A. from Wake Forest University, where he graduated cum laude with a double major in political science and history.
