- Secured summary judgment in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, later affirmed by the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, for a logistics solutions manufacturer. Plaintiff alleged claims of strict products liability negligence and breach of the implied warranty of merchantability, involving an accident on a refitted conveyor belt that resulted in significant hand and arm injuries. Mr. Lamb successfully argued there was no evidence that the client was involved with the machine’s refit and therefore not liable.
- Secured a rare victory in the Philadelphia Court of Commons Pleas — a full dismissal by way of preliminary objections, in a case involving a well-publicized building collapse that comprised more than a year of discovery and a months-long trial. Mr. Lamb argued that the cause of action against his client should be dismissed due to the absence of any legal duty. The court agreed and granted a demurrer in favor of the client at the beginning of the case, saving substantial costs and fees. The case concluded for the other defendants with a settlement in excess of $200 million.
- In a multi-count complaint filed in the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the plaintiff alleged that Mr. Lamb's client, a non-profit, had committed numerous copyright infractions, violated terms of an employment contract, and slandered the plaintiff. After a majority of plaintiff’s deposition was completed, the plaintiff voluntarily withdrew the claim.
