Law360 Interviews John Dornberger and Mason Avrigian About Mid-Atlantic Growth of Construction Practice

Constuction Law, Mid Atlantic
In the January 9, 2019 article, "New Post & Schell Construction Heads Plan Northeast Growth," Law360 interviewed recently appointed co-chairs of the Firm's Construction Government Contracts & Surety Law Practice Group, John W. Dornberger and Mason Avrigian, Jr. about the group's growth and outlook for the construction industry in the northeastern U.S.

The article notes:

"States from North Carolina to New York could soon play host to a sizeable number of infrastructure projects, and Post & Schell PC, with offices in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Washington, D.C., is well-positioned to serve those who may get involved in such projects."

Both Mr. Dornberger and Mr. Avirgian also noted recent trends driving the growth of the practice group:

"...the development of Pennsylvania law surrounding payments and remedies when those working on a construction project aren’t paid on time. That includes changes to the state’s Contractor and Subcontractor Payment Act that took effect in October [2018], amendments that Avrigian said aim to help companies that find themselves shorted paychecks on the job. New aspects of the law include a prohibition on using contracts to eliminate the law’s protections and permission for contractors and subcontractors to stop working if they go too long without being paid."
