Paula Sanders and Andrea Kirshenbaum Present at 6th Annual FSA Compliance and Risk Management Conference on Sept. 24 and 25


On September 24-25, 2019, Paula G. Sanders and Andrea M. Kirshenbaum presented in separate sessions at the Friends Services Alliance (FSA) 6th Annual Compliance and Risk Management Conference in King of Prussia, PA. The annual conference examines trends impacting the long-term care industry, including CCRCs/life plan communities, home care groups, and foundations. 

On September 24th, Ms. Kirshenbaum presented, "Hot Topics in Employment and Wage and Hour Law." The presentation examined key issues and trends shaping employment and wage and hour law, including proposed federal and Pennsylvania regulations to increase the salary level to remain exempt from the obligation to pay overtime, Pennsylvania's Medical Marijuana Act, and the reverberations of #MeToo.

On September 25th, Ms. Sanders was the keynote speaker for the day and discussed recent federal and state regulatory developments affecting long-term care and post acute providers. She also reviewed how to prepare staff for increased enforcement initiatives and develop compliance strategies for regulatory risk mitigation.
