Robin Nagele Presents on Conducting and Protecting Patient Safety Analysis within a PSES at the Louisiana Hospital Association's Annual Health Law Symposium on Nov. 2

On November 2, 2018, Robin Locke Nagele presented, "PSQIA: How to Conduct and Protect Patient Safety Analysis within a Provider PSES," at the Louisiana Hospital Association's 29th Annual Health Law Symposium in Baton Rouge, LA. 

Ms. Nagele's presentation defined the basic framework for the operation of a hospital Patient Safety Evaluation System (PSES) to maximize Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Act (PSQIA) privilege protections. She also reviewed practical tips and suggestions as to how to build on the privilege protection for a hospital's “deliberations and analysis” to create a robust and effective PSES that exists separately from, but works in tandem with, other hospital quality and peer review activities.
