Andrea Kirshenbaum Provides an Overview of the Department of Labor's Overtime Rules and Impact on Employers

On May 18, 2016, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) formally announced its Final Rule which more than doubles the minimum salary threshold for “executive,” “administrative,” and “professional,” employees to qualify as exempt from overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). 

On Wednesday, May 25,2016 Employment Principal Andrea M. Kirshenbaum provided an overview of the provisions of the DOL’s new overtime rule, examined how the Final Rule will be implemented, and discussed how employers should assess its impact on individual employees and departments, as well as its effect on workflow and business operations.
