Bio
Kristen J. Coleman is an Associate in the Firm's Professional Liability Department where she focuses on defending clients in complex litigation matters involving alleged medical malpractice. Her background includes representing healthcare staffing companies in medical malpractice actions where she has defended parent or holding companies against vicarious liability claims against their subsidiaries and/or employees. Ms. Coleman's clients include hospitals, health systems, healthcare staffing companies, physicians, nurses, technicians, and ancillary healthcare professionals.
Ms. Coleman is experienced in all aspects of the litigation process, including pre-trial discovery, taking and defending depositions, motions practice, trial, and appellate review. In addition, she has appeared in both state and federal courts in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She has helped obtain defense verdicts, dismissals, and summary judgments on behalf of her clients.
Prior to joining Post & Schell, she was an associate with a regional defense litigation firm. She also served as a Clerk for the Honorable George W. Overton in the Court of Common Pleas of Pennsylvania. During her clerkship, she worked on trusts, estates, and other probate matters in the Orphans’ Court Division. She also worked on Post-Conviction Relief Act appeals in the Criminal Trial Division, as well as tort, property, and contract disputes in the Civil Trial Division.
